Joshua Fischer is an independent curator and writer living in the Boston, Massachusetts area. He recently moved from Houston, Texas, where he worked at Rice University Art Gallery and curated site-specific installations by Jonathan Schipper, Thorsten Brinkmann, Yusuke Asai, Andrea Dezso, Ana Serrano, and Yasuaki Onishi. He organized with Rice Gallery director, Kimberly Davenport, twenty-four additional commissions, including installations by Dinh Q. Lê, Joel Shapiro, Sarah Oppenheimer, and El Anatsui. He has published exhibition reviews and articles in Glasstire, an online art magazine covering visual art in Texas and Southern California. He currently works as an editor and writer for Big Red & Shiny, an online publication focusing on the Boston and greater New England arts.
